How to Create an Autoresponder at HostMonster

This tutorial will explain you how to create an e-mail auto-responder at Hostmonster.com

First of all, login to your Hostmonster control panel and scroll down to the “Mail” section.

Now select the “Auto Responders” icon.

Then click on the “Add Auto-responder” button.

Now make sure that you select “utf-8″ from the “Character Set” drop down box.

Next enter the desired e-mail address In the “E-mail” field.

Fill in “From” field. This is the address that you want the auto-response to appear to be coming from. Usually this is the same e-mail address as you have specified in the “E-mail” field.

Put your message subject in the “Subject” field. For example:
Autoreply: %subject%

“HTML Message” check box, if selected, means that you can use rich-text formatting by applying HTML markup language.

In the “Body” field you can compose the message of your auto-response. When composing your auto-response, you can use any of the following variables which will take information the e-mail being sent to you and include it as part of your auto-response:

%subject% – the subject of the message that was sent to the autoresponder.
%from% – the sender of the message that was sent to the autoresponder.
%email% – the sender’s email from the message that was sent to the autoresponder.

When you are done, click the “Create/Modify” button.

After successful creation of your auto-responder click on the “Go Back” link, which will take you to the list of all previously created auto-responders (if any). Here you may delete or modify ones you currently have. Please remember that as long as they are on this list, auto-responders will be active.
